2 years 9 months - Cabo San Lucas, came back to hotel with a sore swollen ankle!

I went to Cabo San lucas for a bachelorette party and walked all day! Went down to the Marina to shop. I was in my flip flops, flat, and with no ankle support. We walked for about 3 hours? Came back to the hotel with a sore and little swollen ankle. View from my room.



Luckily I brought my gel pad which I left in the freezer just in case I needed some icing. I should've worn my athletic shoes to walk. Next time.

    I just got back from a short trip to Barcelona. It was soooooo hot that on the first day I went off on flip flops. After 1h walking it became a nightmare, very uncomfortable. It just been 13 months since the accident so about a year after the operation. I got back to the hotel, got my walking shoes and I was able to walk all day long, literally. Up and down, stairs, hills, no problem. Though I felt the need of a stretch and my ankle was a bit swollen at the end of the day, and protesting a bit when the walking restarted, but I did managed 2.5 days of all day long walking.

      Welcome back M! Barcelona sounds amazing! I'd like to visit someday. I know exactly what you mean about wearing flip flops around and walking for too long. Glad you were able to walk better with shoes. Now when I travel I always carry a gel cold/hot pad. It comes in handy when I get swollen, just like how you experience. I use this one. It's light, small, easy to pack.
